Stalbridge Cricket Club wins £300 in online poll

Victoria McManus 07/24/14

Stalbridge Cricket Club scooped a handy £300 in our recent Making a Difference Locally (MADL) online vote. Junior Co-ordinator Colin Moore and two young players, Scott and Thomas, popped in this week to collect the cheque from Adam Vincent. The Club is fundraising to purchase new sightscreens and the money will be a welcome boost.

This year Stalbridge is fielding seven junior and four senior teams. A junior membership of over 100 local children is the club’s lifeblood. See more about the club here www.stalbridgecc.co.uk

Other winners in the vote were Templecombe Primary School, which won the poll and will be getting £600, and Gillingham Community Church Open Door project, which will receive £100.

All the money is raised through customers targeting specially marked products in the shop; for every purchase the manufacturer donates a few pence to the fund. It might only be pennies but it soon adds up. To date, Dike's has been able to donate more than £13,000 to local good causes from the MADL fund.

Look out for the next MADL poll coming soon!
